It.was announced that the Thursday 8th August is the first of the Islamic month of Shawwal which is Eid. It’s always exciting to find out that it’s eid but at the same time it is very sad. I always miss Ramadan a lot. Alhamdolillah.
Whether we are celebrating eid on Thursday or Friday let us remember that it is not about excess or over indulgence. Remember those Muslims around the world who are also having eid but.have suffered the loss of a loved one due to some calamity. Remember those who do not live in safety and any kind of security. Remember those who have nothing to eat to stop their hunger let alone celebrate eid. Remember those who are being oppressed. Remember those in prison. Remember those who have passed away before us. Remember to make dua (supplication) to Allah for them.
May Allah accept our good deeds.and forgive us our bad ameen.
EID MUBARAK Yezarck
As you may or may not know giving charity in Islam is strongly encouraged even if it is something as small as a mustard seed or something as simple as smiling at someone. This is not only for Ramadan but everyday of a Muslims life. However as Ramadan is the month of blessings we strive to do as many acts of charity and other good deeds as we can. There are only two or three days left and Muslims are emptying their pockets and even their bank accounts to help those in need.
I am still raising money to send trucks of flour to Syria so that the people there can make bread which is their staple food. I’m very far off my target but inshaAllah (Allah willing) will get there. If you do have a contribution you can click on the Just Giving link to the right to donate online or you can make a contribution via text by texting YEZZ78 and then the amount that you want to donate to 70070.
Thank you in advance. 🙂 JazakAllah khair (May Allah reward you with good)
The Prophet (Peace be upon him) has said: “To smile in the company of your brother is charity. To command to do good deeds and to prevent others from doing evil is charity. To guide a person in a place where he can not get astray is charity. To remove troublesome things like thorns and bones from the road is charity. To pour water from your jug into the jug of your brother is charity. To guide a person with defective vision is charity for you.” (Bukhari)
The Prophet (Peace be upon him) has said: ‘Sadaqah (charity) does not decrease wealth.’ (Muslim)
Textile design ‘African Green’ in different colours. Something new that I’m working on with a number of my sketches is changing their colours. I am also working on changing a number of sketches into blank and white for a children’s colouring book for kids aged 7-12 inshaAllah.
Which one is your favourite? 🙂
Was busy sewing this yesterday. 🙂
Yesterday I had some things delivered in the post from Amazon and in the packaging there was a long piece of scrunched up brown paper. I usually keep it because I really like the texture of it and I pike to keep things that I can use in my art. I just open it up and then fold it neatly along the dotted lines that make it easy to tear sections off (can’t remember what you call them,- perforated?).
Anyways yesterday my children saw me doing that and asked if they could have the paper. They had an idea to make a book from it and it worked out great. I divided the lot of paper in half and the folded it and stapled it and hey presto! Two scrap books 🙂
Once made my children were very busy filling it with stickers and cutting and sticking things in. Hours of fun from a little bit of brown paper that could have ended up in the recycling bin.
I was busy yesterday working on this as well as some other business. 🙂 What do you think?
The children wanted to make some origami houses after they saw a picture on the cover of a book so yesterday we looked up some videos on YouTube.
