New painting in purple as you can see. Not sure if it’s finished yet. I think I’ll add more to it or change it completely. I don’t think I like it much but my daughter likes it. Looks kinda nice withdrew light shining through it I think.

My colouring book aimed at children ages 7-12 although children of other ages may also enjoy it too. It is free to download but if you would like to make a contribution to my Syria fund-raiser it would be much appreciated. You can click on the link to the right or the link in the download. Please spread and share with your family and friends. 🙂
Textile design ‘African Green’ in different colours. Something new that I’m working on with a number of my sketches is changing their colours. I am also working on changing a number of sketches into blank and white for a children’s colouring book for kids aged 7-12 inshaAllah.
Which one is your favourite? 🙂
I was busy doing some boring but necessary Home work today since that I need to do my business plan.
I’m just itching to paint and I quite fancy doing some print making which I hope to spend my Saturday afternoon doing inshaAllah (God willing).
My son did some really amazing robot drawings today that I just had to share. I love the detail. 🙂
I ate a simple salad with lettuce, cherry tomatoes, celery, rice and salmon. It was very refreshing and nice. It occurred to me today that I haven’t had any meat since the beginning of Ramadan. I know that’s only three days which isn’t long but had I eaten out I probably would’ve eaten meat. I think it’s a good thing to lay off the meat. It really isn’t necessary to eat meat every day. It’s amazing how far a little of the right food goes. 🙂
Then eat of what Allah has provided for you which is lawful and good. And be grateful to Allah, if it is indeed Him that you worship. Surah An-Nahl:114

Second day of Ramadan http://yezarcksblog.blogspot.com/2013/07/second-day-of-ramadan.html
Tomorrow will be the first day of the Muslim month of fasting when Muslims fast from dawn till sunset. The Islamic calendar is based on the moon so a month lasts for 29 or 30 days which is why Ramadan falls at different times every year on the Gregorian calendar.
Ramadan is for me the most eagerly awaited month of the year because it is my favourite month. What could be so great about not eating and drinking for 19 hours you may ask? Well refraining from food, drink and sexual relations during daylight hours isn’t all that it’s about. Ramadan is all about personal development and trying to better oneself. It helps me to feel more focused and super motivated and determine to reach my goals. It was during Ramadan of 2011 that I started painting my Lily series which was a defining moment for me as an artist as it was at this time I decided to take that step and decide to start building a career as a self representing artist.
It is also a very social time for Muslims and a reminder to us of every blessing that we have and should be grateful for.
Over the course of this month I want to share some of my thoughts and feelings of this time inshaAllah (God willing). I will be posting on this blog as well as my other blog: http://www.yezarcksblog.blogspot.co.uk
Wishing you a blessed Ramadan 🙂
